Outsourced sales team, built and managed for you.

An external sales team of vetted UK setters, SDRs, closers and sales leadership — designed around your offer, run against scorecards, and reported on weekly. You keep the pipeline, the data and the option to bring it in-house.

What an outsourced sales team is

An outsourced sales team is a complete external selling unit that works your offer as if it were in-house — without going on your payroll. Rather than recruiting individual employees, you engage a structured team: people in the right seats, a management layer above them, an agreed operating rhythm, and reporting that shows exactly what is happening in your pipeline. It is not a call centre reading a generic script, and it is not lead generation: the team sells your offer, in your name, inside your systems.

What roles the team can include

Appointment setter

Outbound DMs, email and call blocks against your ICP; books qualified calls into the closer's diary and protects show rate with reminder sequences.

Add it when: You have a defined ICP and an offer that sells on a call, but nobody filling the diary.

SDR / BDR

Sequenced cold outreach into named B2B accounts, qualification against BANT or MEDDIC, and clean handover of accepted opportunities.

Add it when: You sell B2B, need pipeline coverage rather than one-call closes, and want opportunities tracked in your CRM.

Closer

Runs the booked call end to end — discovery, objection handling, payment plans and the close — then owns follow-up until cash is collected.

Add it when: Calls are being booked and the founder is still the only person who can convert them.

Sales leadership

Owns the number, the framework, scorecards, tape review and the hiring plan above the reps. Delivered as a fractional sales director.

Add it when: You have two or more reps and no one senior holding standards or coaching on a schedule.

Outsourced team vs recruitment or placement only

Recruitment ends the day someone starts. You get a vetted rep and you own everything after that — onboarding, targets, coaching, comp disputes and performance management. That is the right choice when you already have a founder or sales manager with the time to run people, and it is cheaper: unlimited hiring on Prime Employer is £249/mo + VAT (where applicable). An outsourced sales team includes the layer above the seats — team design, onboarding onto your offer, scorecards, weekly review and reporting — so nobody internally has to become a sales manager overnight. If you want the seat only, start at hire sales closers or sales recruitment.

Outsourced sales team vs Done-For-You Closing

These overlap, and the difference is scope. Done-For-You Closing is focused on the conversion end: we rebuild the call process, script and objection library, and staff it with placed closers so booked calls stop leaking. An outsourced sales team can include that closing function but also covers the front end — setting, SDR/BDR outbound and the leadership holding it together. If calls are already being booked and only conversion is broken, take the closing service. If the pipeline itself does not exist without you, you need the team.

You're ready for one when

  • Your offer already converts — you or one rep can close it consistently
  • Lead flow exists and is repeatable, not a one-off launch
  • You can service the volume a working sales team would generate
  • The bottleneck is people and management capacity, not product or demand
  • You want a function running in weeks, not a six-month internal hiring cycle

Wait if

  • The offer has never been sold at the target price
  • There are no leads and no budget to create any
  • You need one rep, managed by you — placement is cheaper and faster
  • You want performance without giving the team CRM access or a weekly review slot

What you still need to provide

An external team sells; it does not manufacture demand or fix an offer that has never converted. Engagements work when these are in place:

  • A proven offer with a price point and a reason people buy it now
  • Lead flow — your own marketing, ad spend, list or inbound; an external team sells, it does not replace demand generation
  • CRM access and a seat in your calendar, dialler and comms stack
  • Product and delivery answers the team can rely on, plus a named internal point of contact
  • Commercial terms: commission structure, refund policy, contracting terms and who signs off pricing exceptions
  • Decision speed — a weekly slot to review numbers and unblock the team

No lead flow yet? Start with B2B lead generation or done-for-you appointment setting before staffing a full team.

How PrimeClosers builds and runs the team

  • Audit first: call recordings, pipeline data and conversion reviewed before anyone is placed
  • Team design: which seats, in what ratio, against your lead volume and close rate
  • Sourcing and vetting every seat from the PrimeClosers UK network — no job-board reposting
  • Onboarding onto your offer: discovery framework, objection library and scripts built for your product
  • Weekly tape review, 1:1s and scorecards so coaching happens on a schedule, not when something breaks
  • Agreements, commission invoices, contractor payments and disputes administered on-platform

Management, reporting and scorecards

An outsourced team is only worth buying if you can see what it is doing. Every engagement runs on the same reporting spine, inside your CRM:

  • Activity: dials, conversations, DMs, sequences sent — per rep, per week
  • Booked, held and no-show rates by lead source
  • Close rate, average order value and cash collected against target
  • Pipeline value by stage, with ageing so stalled deals surface early
  • Per-rep scorecard with a red/amber/green rating and the coaching action attached to it
  • A written weekly summary you can read in five minutes, plus the raw data in your CRM

Leadership is delivered as a fractional sales director where you need someone senior owning the number.

UK-specific considerations

  • Employment status and IR35: commission-weighted seats are engaged as self-employed contractors, with status and terms stated in the placement agreement before anyone starts.
  • VAT: every published figure excludes VAT; VAT is added where applicable.
  • Outbound compliance: UK GDPR and PECR govern cold outreach — the team works from your data and your lawful basis, and TPS/CTPS screening applies to cold calling.
  • UK hours and buying norms: coverage is typically 9am–6pm GMT/BST, with evening slots where consumer offers need them.
  • Currency and comp: OTE, splits and invoices are all in GBP, paid on cash collected unless your agreement says otherwise.

Outsourced sales team FAQ

An outsourced sales team is an external team of sales professionals who sell your offer, in your name, under an agreed structure and management layer — rather than being employed by you. In the PrimeClosers model that team can include appointment setters, SDRs or BDRs, closers and a fractional sales director, all vetted from our UK network and operating inside your CRM and calendar.

Internal hiring gives you permanent employees, deep product knowledge and full control, but costs salary, National Insurance and pension from day one, plus a hiring cycle and a ramp period before anyone produces. An outsourced team is typically self-employed contractors placed and managed for you, live in weeks rather than months, weighted towards commission, and resized without redundancy. Most UK founders start external, then convert the seats that clearly pay for themselves into permanent hires.

Placement ends when the person starts — you get a vetted rep and you manage them. An outsourced sales team includes the management layer: team design, onboarding onto your offer, scorecards, weekly tape review and reporting. If you already have a founder or manager who can run reps, placement on Prime Employer is the cheaper route. If nobody internally can own the number, you need the team, not just the seat.

Done-For-You Closing is a specific service focused on the closing function — we rebuild your call process and staff it with placed closers. An outsourced sales team is the broader structure: it can include setting, SDR/BDR outbound, closing and leadership together as one managed unit. Businesses that only need booked calls converted usually want Done-For-You Closing; businesses that need the whole front end built want the team.

It is assembled from published components rather than a single hidden retainer. A Sales Audit is £997 one-time. Managed Placement is £2,000 + 15% cash collected per seat. Fractional sales leadership starts from £4,000/month on a 3-month minimum term. Platform access for agreements, invoicing and payments is Prime Employer at £249/mo + VAT (where applicable), included at no extra cost while a Managed Placement or Done For You engagement is active, plus a 4% Platform & Payment Fee + VAT (where applicable) on contractor payments processed through the platform. A full Done For You build is bespoke and scoped on a call. All prices exclude VAT.

Most seats are self-employed contractors engaged through a placement agreement issued on the platform, with commission invoices and payments administered centrally. That keeps the structure flexible and keeps one contract trail rather than several ad-hoc arrangements. Employment status, IR35 position and notice terms are stated in each agreement before anyone starts.

Yes. The team works inside your CRM, not a black box. Contacts, pipeline, call recordings and reporting remain your property, and scorecards and weekly numbers are shared in writing. Engagements are designed to be handed back, so you end up with a working sales function and the documentation to run it.

Yes — every seat in the PrimeClosers network is remote-first and covers UK hours, typically 9am–6pm GMT/BST with evening call slots where consumer offers need them. Reps sell in GBP against UK buying norms, and outbound work is run in line with UK GDPR and PECR expectations on your own data and consent basis.
